Truck Crash Causes Lengthy Delays On I-270 In Maryland (Developing)

Traffic slowed to a crawl on Monday morning on I-270 when a reported fatal truck crash shut down a stretch of the interstate in Montgomery County.

An alert was issued at around 10:30 a.m. on May 13 following a crash involving a truck on I-270 near MD-109 (exit 22/Old Hundred Road). 

According to Maryland State Police, they are investigating a fatal crash and motorists in the area can expect delays.

The Maryland State Highway Administration said that two left lanes and an off-ramp is closed northbound, and all southbound lanes were closed as of 10:45 a.m. on Monday.

No details about the cause of the crash have been released.
